Thirds In Motion
“Thirds In Motion” is a more advanced hello song that you can sing with late elementary or even middle school singers. It starts out in unison, breaks into thirds, and introduces the concepts of parallel and contrary motion. Parallel motion is when two voices move in the same direction by the same intervals. They move together, both up and down, by steps and skips. Contrary motion is when the two voices move in opposite directions by steps and skips. “Thirds In Motion” does all three. Enjoy!
