Our music curriculum content guides for elementary students provide a structured yet flexible framework for teachers to engage their students in a holistic learning experience. These content guides are in alignment with the National Coalition for Arts Standards, and serve as invaluable resources, helping teachers craft engaging lessons that nurture a lifelong love of music in their students.

Each curriculum content guide includes the following segments:

  • Welcome – Creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Sets the tone for the lesson and builds excitement.
  • Sing – Encourages vocal exploration and expression. Children develop pitch accuracy and confidence through songs and chants.
  • Play – Students interact with various instruments, enhancing their understanding of rhythm, melody, and harmony.
  • Move – Integrates physical movement with music. Students express themselves through dance and body percussion, which also aids in their motor skill development.
  • Learn – Focuses on teaching fundamental musical concepts, such as note values, dynamics, and tempo, in a fun and accessible way.
  • Connect – Relates students’ musical experiences to other subjects or aspects of their lives, encouraging a deeper appreciation for music and its relevance beyond the classroom.
