When I think about my reasons for starting this site, I always go back to my father. Louis Mario Fratturo was a remarkably talented jazz musician and composer, and a music teacher whose gift for sharing music was so profound that I hear from his former students even now, some 45 years after his passing – when I was just nine years old.

I knew from that day on that I wanted to follow his remarkable footsteps and have been fortunate enough to make my living as a musician and music teacher for more than 30 years. Over the course of those years, I have dedicated myself to continuing his legacy, which was defined by a unique ability to help students not only learn to play music, but to love it.

That is what Creativemusicroom.com is all about. Here you will find a wide array of resources for classroom teachers, whether you are a longtime veteran or a first-time substitute – from curriculum ideas and lesson plans to original games, stories, songs, and so much more.

The original, dynamic, and classroom-tested resources we offer at CreativeMusicRoom.com provide you with building blocks that can help you achieve the success you want for your students while creating the classroom experience and learning environment you need to make that happen.

There are few more community-based endeavors than education. Especially in this complex post-pandemic educational landscape, it takes a village and then some. I hope that CreativeMusicRoom.com can be a town square where we can all come together regularly to support the incredibly important work we do – and have some fun in the process!
